This article examines the study of the category of hypothesis (추측) in Korean linguistics, focusing on its grammatical and lexical means as well as their semantic and pragmatic properties. It also explores how hypothesis-expressing constructions and adverbs have been analyzed in linguistic research and their role in teaching Korean as a foreign language. The study summarizes the perspectives of Korean and international linguists and highlights functional distinctions among different forms of expressing hypothesis.
