Abstract

Interregional economic disparities represent a pervasive and complex challenge to balanced national development worldwide. This article systematically explores the fundamental nature and defining characteristics of these inequalities, moving beyond simple income gaps to encompass structural, social, and spatial dimensions. It examines the various theoretical perspectives explaining their emergence and persistence, alongside empirical manifestations across diverse geographical contexts. A comprehensive understanding of these multifaceted disparities is essential for designing targeted and effective policy interventions aimed at fostering inclusive growth and regional convergence.
